Isolated Boarding House : The home of Miss Gentle, Mech-Armed Heim, and a few other odd folks. Nobody's quite certain who or where the proprietor is, but the rules of the place don't allow anything... un-peaceful. An Heim is on hand to enforce that rule. A decent base of operations, for awhile anyway.

The Woods : Not really a place so much as the place between every other place. The Woods are inescapable in the Unknown.  But why would you want to escape? The pathways in The Woods seem to shift and change, sometimes doubling back on themselves, sometimes leading today to places they didn't yesterday. Those who set out usually wind up where they're going, and can usually find their way back. Just not often by the same route.

The Langtree School for Unfortunate Children : Now staffed by Miss Langtree and often visited by her Beau Jimmy Brown, the School is known far and wide, at least to the more clever creatures of the Unknown. The "children" boarding here do seem to become more like actual children with every passing day.

The Golden Sea : This "sea" of wheat bounds The Wood on one side. Not that anyone can agree which side. If you manage to get high enough, you can usually see the Sea just on the horizon. The waves of grain are quite buoyant, and the wind quite constant, so there are any number of bizarre ships sailing from this port to that one, or just sailing because that's what they do. Beware the cows.

The Great River : The river is about as easy to map as the roads are in the Unknown, though it seems to run through just about every major city. The Froggie Ferry runs up and down - or possibly around - the Great River, stopping at two or three ports a day.

The Grand Graveyard : There are an endless selection of graves, gravestones, crypts, caverns and cages in this place, very few of them actually occupied. Many processions travel through here, either to inter the dead, or to dig them up again and welcome them home. Quite a lot of Post-Mortal folk, as well as Skeletons and Ghosts find themselves entering the Unknown in this un-subtle manner.

Whispering Grove : These trees are most definitely not normal. The largest known grove of edelwood trees has started talking to itself since the departure of The Beast. What they say makes little sense to most, and drives some mad, which is why most folk have heard of it at least in rumor. Some say that the trees are waking up all the way, and walking out into the Unknown.

Somewhere City : Everyone who's anybody has been to this city at least once in their life (or afterlife), and all gossip says that it dwarfs every other city in the unknown. Nobody seems to be able to point the way to it, or find their way back to it, or really remember what it looks like or who lives there. It might have something to do with the last war, which nobody quite remembers either.

Townland Village : There are, most likely, several of these places, but nobody looks too close, and nobody with a soul ever wants to go back. These quaint little hamlets are referred to collectively as Townland Village, and the inhabitants as Townies. Townies are people, mostly. Humans. They all go by the name of their profession, are quite good at what they do, and can be very competent and hospitable. On the other hand, they're missing something upstairs that seems to be really, really important, and turn out to be really not people at all.

A Very Tall Tree : Most definitely the tallest, largest, widest, estest tree in the whole of the woods. It likely has dozens of proper names, but not in any human language. This tree is some cross between a city, a maze and an utter disregard for falling from great heights. Occupied by a most eclectic menagerie of half-animals, half-men, as well as every possible quarter and third you can imagine, and not always in any reasonable progression from creature to person. Also, the tree is infested with deer. The little cute kind, jumping from branch to branch eating leaves. It's silly.
